Local Attractions

The quaint little seaside village of Culburra Beach is situated on a peninsula in the Shoalhaven Bite between Kiama to the north and Jervis Bay in the south, having two pristine beaches, a beautiful lake, the navigable entrance to the Shoalhaven River and other scenic waterways.

All forms of sport are catered for - canoeing, golf, surfing, swimming, bowling and fishing to mention just a few.

Don't be surprised if an early morning or evening stroll along the beach finds you alone to take in the sunrise and sunset watching dolphins gracefully at play along the breaker line.

For the more energetic there are nature walks around the Beecroft Peninsula, to discover some of the most awesome coastal scenery imaginable, including the wreck of "The Merimbula".
You should not miss the short drive to Honeymoon Bay and walk to boat Harbour including the fabulous scenery off Point Perpendicular and Jervis Bay.

The area abounds in wildlife - kangaroos, wallabies, possums, echidnas, bandicoot, lyrebirds - with the lake foreshores playing host to many species of exotic and endangered birdlife with seals and fairy penguins off Bowen Island.
